1. Who We Are

hky.bio ("we," "us," or "our") operates the hky.bio platform — a link-in-bio service built for hockey players. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

When you join our waitlist or create an account, we may collect:

• Contact information: email address and full name
• Profile information: username, date of birth, and the details you add to your profile (stats, highlights, links, sponsors, and similar)
• Usage data: pages visited, interactions with the service, and device/browser information
• Cookies: we use essential cookies to operate the service and analytics cookies to understand usage patterns

We collect your date of birth to confirm you meet our minimum age requirement and to help us accurately match information about you when we find your info online (see Section 3).

Profile view analytics. When someone visits a public player profile, we record an anonymous, aggregated event so the profile owner can see how their profile is performing. For each view or link tap we store the approximate location (country and region), the referring website, and the device type (mobile, tablet, or desktop). We do not store visitors' IP addresses, do not use tracking cookies for this, and do not identify individual visitors. A profile owner only ever sees totals and trends, never who viewed their profile. We use a short-lived, rotating code to estimate unique visitors within a single day; it cannot be linked back to a person.

3. Information We Find Online About You

To help you build your profile quickly, we use the name and date of birth you provide to search publicly available sources — such as sports statistics sites, news articles, video platforms, and social media — and gather information that appears to relate to you. This may include your playing history, statistics, photos, highlight videos, articles, and public social accounts.

This information is presented to you as suggestions. You decide what to keep, edit, or remove before it appears on your public profile — nothing discovered is published without being part of the profile you control. Because this information comes from third-party sources, we cannot guarantee it is accurate, complete, or up to date, and you are responsible for reviewing it.

To do this we use automated tools, including third-party AI/large-language-model providers and web-data services, which process the relevant information on our behalf. We do not use this processing to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you. If you would prefer we not run this discovery step, contact us at info@hky.bio.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create your profile and reserve your chosen username
• Find and suggest information about you to help you build your profile (see Section 3)
• Operate, secure, and improve the hky.bio platform
• Send you service updates about your account and the platform
• Send occasional offers, news, and promotional content related to hky.bio (you can opt out at any time)
• Prevent fraud and ensure the security of our service

5. Data Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform, and only as needed to provide our services and under confidentiality obligations. These include providers for:

• Hosting & database: our cloud hosting and database infrastructure
• Email delivery: sending transactional and marketing emails
• AI & web-data processing: AI/large-language-model providers and web-data services used for the discovery step described in Section 3
• Analytics: understanding how the service is used

Some of these providers may process data outside your country; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Supabase as our database provider, which employs enterprise-grade security measures including encryption at rest and in transit. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you.

If you begin signing up but don't finish, we keep what you entered (name, email, and chosen handle) to hold your handle and to let you know when you can build. You can ask us to delete it at any time at info@hky.bio.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data, including information we found online
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing, including the online discovery described in Section 3
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

8. Marketing Communications

When you create an account or join the waitlist, you consent to receive emails about hky.bio's updates, offers, and news. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email we send or by contacting us directly.

9. Children's Privacy

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian, and we strongly recommend they review this Privacy Notice and the information we find online (Section 3) with you before you publish your profile. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, contact us at info@hky.bio and we will delete it.
